Almost three months after the crime, Coquitlam RCMP are looking for the public's help in tracking down a bus passenger who assaulted a driver.

According to police, at about 11 a.m. on Oct. 14, a man and two women got on a bus at the Coquitlam bus loop. When the driver asked one of the women to pay the proper fare, she screamed at him.

The driver took out his phone to call 911 and struggled to hang on to it as the woman tried to take it from him. At this point, the man who got on with them stepped in and punched the driver in the face.

After the incident, the three left the bus loop and headed toward Coquitlam Centre.

The suspect is described as a "scruffy looking" Caucasian man in his late 20s, about 5'8" tall with short black hair. His female associate is described as a heavy-set Caucasian woman in her late 30s and wearing a grey sweatshirt.

Anyone who witnessed the assault or who has information about the suspects is asked to call Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2014-29409 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca.

The person of interest is described as a South Asian man in his mid 20s, 5'11" tall and weighing about 165 lb. with a pronounced nose and short black hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark jacket, jeans and white sneakers.
