Coquitlam RCMP seek witness in assault case

The Coquitlam RCMP are seeking a Good Samaritan who assisted a woman after she was sexually assaulted and believe he may be a valuable witness in their case. On April 3, 2011, a woman was assaulted at a residence in the Burquitlam area.

On April 3, 2011, a woman was assaulted at a residence in the Burquitlam area. The victim and her attacker were known to each other and after the assault he followed her to a nearby bus stop.

The woman sought help from an unknown Asian male, who stayed with the woman until both got on the SkyTrain at Lougheed Station. The suspect remained on the platform.

The man spoke Chinese with the victim and is described as Asian, approximately five-feet, seven inches, with black hair wearing a black jacket.

The accused, Godstime Obelikpyha, was arrested and charged with sexual assault. Police continue to investigate and said it is important the unknown male is identified because he may have valuable information.
