A motorcyclist is dead after a collision with a Toyota Matrix in the Burquitlam area Thursday night.
Police are seeking witnesses to the accident, which occurred shortly after 10:42 a.m., when a Yamaha motorcycle heading northbound collided with the blue Matrix, which was turning left from North Road on to Foster.
The driver of the car remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. The investigation is still in its early stages and it is unclear whether alcohol, drugs or speed contributed to the crash.
"We talked to a witness at the scene and we are looking for more," said Coquitlam RCMP Cpl. Jamie Chung. "We believe there may have been another vehicle in front of the vehicle that got hit. They may have seen something."
Coquitlam RCMP traffic services is investigating the incident.
