School District 43 won't be tweeting its proposed new digital responsibility policy for students and employees, at least not word for word.
The policy, expected to be approved last night (after The Tri-City News' print deadline), covers eight pages and lists dozens of do's and don't's dealing with email, use of personal technology and how to deal with inappropriate material.
Students and staff will be allowed to bring their own technology - including tablet and laptop computers - to school and use it as long as it doesn't interfere with anyone else. But district employees are restricted to using their devices on their own time.
The policy is being introduced as the district installs fibre at eight schools, the board office and Winslow Centre to speed up digital communications, and uses new monitoring tools to identify and block inappropriate material and prioritize and cache material to save bandwidth at other schools.
