Finding her missing daughter is the birthday wish of Ann Winston of Coquitlam.
And, with the public’s help, RCMP are hoping to make the 80-year-old woman’s dream come true.
“She was our baby,” Winston said in a press release, issued today (Friday). “It would really get to me if we could find her. That’s exactly what I want to do.”
Mounties have been looking for her child, Kim Rogelstad — also known as Kim Winston — since June 5, 2007, when Ann reported her daughter’s disappearance.
Now, to jog some memories and glean more information, police are releasing two never-before-published photos of Kim.
When she went missing, Kim was 43 years old and described as Caucasian with green eyes and brown hair — often worn in a ponytail.
At the time, she stood 5’8” tall and weighed 145 pounds.
According to the release, her favourite hangouts were coffee shops and fast food restaurants in the area of Pinetree Way and Lougheed Highway, in Coquitlam City Centre.
Her mom said Kim was a soft-hearted woman who was kind and helpful. “I had two operations and she took care of me. She fixed me up with pots of tea and milk in a mug — and she was a fabulous cook. I know it’s been a long time but I’d love to know what happened to her.”
