Coquitlam wildlife photographer wins second in province-wide contest

Coquitlam’s Maja Lakhani took home second in the ‘wild settings’ category for her photo of two black bears munching on some berries.

A wildlife photographer from Coquitlam has taken second place in the BC SPCA’s 11th annual Wildlife-In-Focus photography contest.

Competition judges ranked the amateur submissions in either the ‘backyard habitat’ category or ‘wild settings.’ In the end, more than 640 photos were submitted from across British Columbia.

Coquitlam’s Maja Lakhani took home second in the ‘wild settings’ category for her photo of two black bears munching on some berries. 

In the end, the competition raised over $16,800 for the BC SPCA.
