Coquitlam firefighters took about 45 minutes to put out a Monday morning fire at a home in the 200 Block of Cayer Street in Coquitlam that sent a man and a woman to hospital.
However, they were later released while the residents of the upper floor evacuated the premises without injury.
Deputy chief Jim Ogloff said the cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
