There are plenty of skating opportunities on New Year's Eve day in the Tri-Cities.

Want to have some fun with the kids on New Year’s Eve? There’s plenty to do in the Tri-Cities while still making sure you get the little ones off to bed before the clock chimes midnight.

There are afternoon skates and swims in Port Moody, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, as follows:

Port Coquitlam, Dec. 31 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at the Recreation Complex, 2150 Wilson Ave., PoCo. enjoy a winter skate with friends and family.

Port Moody, Dec. 31, from 1 to 3 p.m., cost is $3.50. End your year at the Port Moody arena and enjoy some time on the ice playing games and lap skating.

Coquitlam, Dec. 31, from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. or from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex. Cost is regular admission. Finish off the year with a fun-filled skate. There will be on and off-ice activities for the whole family.

Coquitlam, Dec. 31 from 1 to 3 p.m., City Centre Aquatic Complex. Cost is regular admission. Finish off 2018 with a splash, there will be games and prizes.

Coquitlam, Jan. 1, 10:30 a.m. to noon or 12:15 to 1:45 p.m., at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex, Cost is regular admission. Bring your friends and family to start the new year off with a leisurely skate.

Coquitlam, Dec. 31, Ring in the New Year at the Lights at Lafarge holiday lights display at Coquitlam’s Town Centre Park. Typically the lights are turned off at 11 p.m. but on New Year’s Eve they will stay on past midnight so people can enjoy the display for their New Year’s Eve celebrations.
