School District 43 is not the only district cutting programs, teachers and supplies to make their budgets balance for next year.
Here are some of the cuts other districts are making to balance their 2013/'14 budgets.
Delta: $3.5 million - cuts include transportation, staff, programs and supplies
New Westminster - $3.5 million, cuts include staff and deferring repayment of $2.8 deficit from last year
Ridge Meadows - $5.6 million, staff cuts plus using $1.51 million in reserves, higher rental rates
Burnaby - $6.1 million, staff cuts, two week spring break, services and supplies
Vancouver - $7.91 million, not available
School District 43 - $12.5 million, staff reductions, cuts to services, supplies, release time for staff development
