More than 30 cyclists — led by the brother of Port Coquitlam hometown hero Terry Fox — will ride to the base of Mt. Terry Fox on Saturday to fundraise for cancer research.

Darrell Fox will repeat last year's journey from Sun Peaks resort to the mountain, a 360-km event geared for competitive and endurance athletes.

Among those on Terry Fox 360 this year is Jordan Lea, a cancer survivor and amputee since January 2013; he will ride in memory of a friend and training partner who recently died from the disease.

"I am not sure how this event will play out but I do promise that I will leave it all on the road," Lea said in a news release.

In 2016, a team of 25 cyclists undertook the trip — in the rain for most of the 11 hours — to Valemount, collectively bringing in $40,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation.

Meanwhile, the Tri-Cities hosts four Terry Fox runs on Sunday, Sept. 17: In Terry's hometown of PoCo (Hyde Creek recreation centre) as well as in Coquitlam (Mundy Park), Port Moody (Rocky Point Park) and Anmore (Spirit Square).
