Charley King, the president of the Coquitlam Teachers' Association, welcomes the opportunity for teachers to learn and prepare for the new curriculum during two pro-d days next year.

Teachers will head to class to learn and prepare for the revised school curriculum next year, giving School District 43 students two extra days off.

The additional pro-d days have been mandated by the provincial government with School District 43 picking Tuesday, Feb. 9, the day after BC Family Day and Friday, May 13 as the two days that will be used for teacher instruction in 2016.

"I think we can do some really good things with the resources we have," Coquitlam Teachers' Association president Charley King told the board of education Tuesday after the non-instructional days were approved.
