$5 million (amount of money being cut from current year's budget)
$8 million (anticipated deficit to be paid - cut - in future budgets, with the first year being zero and the remainder in the following four years. This number could change by June)
$12.5 million (amount of money the district needs to cut for 2013/'14 to achieve a balanced budget)
Positions to be cut (this could change over the next few weeks, district leadership team to reveal exact jobs this Tuesday, April 23):
10 managers, administrative
32 clerical/custodial/facilities
19 youth works, special education assistants, community school co-ordinator
81 teachers/learning support teachers/co-ordinators
142 Total
SALARY REDUCTIONS: $11.5 MILLION
OTHER REDUCTIONS: $1 MILLION
Note, cuts could be partially offset by an expected 80 to 90 retirements
