Port Moody residents can find out more about the local Royal Canadian Legion branch's plans for redevelopment at a community information meeting next week.
The developer, Townline Housing Solutions, is hosting a meeting Monday at the Old Mill Boathouse in Rocky Point Park to showcase its plans for Port Moody Legion Branch 119 site, which sits at 2513-2519 Clarke St. Representatives from Townline, as well as the project architect and city staff, will be on hand to collect information and answer questions.
Mary De Paoli, PoMo's manager of planning, said the proposed development includes a five-story, U-shaped building with ground-floor commercial space, including a new Legion, with four storeys of residential space above, offering a total of 84 units.
"There will be a new memorial plaza/open space accessed off Spring Street, which will include a new home for the cenotaph," she added.
Townline is applying for rezoning of the property to a comprehensive development zone that is specific to the proposal.
The PoMo Legion was built in 1953; the property was sold to Townline for $4.3 million.
The community information meeting on the Legion project will be held Monday, Nov. 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Old Mill Boathouse, 2715 Esplanade St., PoMo.
