Value Village staff discovered an unusually generous donation when they discovered cash inside a laptop bag last week.
The black bag, with "Talvest Mutual Funds" embroidered on it, was left at the Barnet Highway location on or around Oct. 13.
"We think someone simply forgot about having the cash in the bag when it was donated," said Cpl. Jamie Chung. "For obvious reasons, we can't say how much was turned in."
The owner is asked to come forward with information on exactly what else was in the bag so the money can be returned. They can contact police at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2014-29438.
Police have to turn the money over to the provincial Receiver General 90 days from the date it was found.
