Chuck Denison, currently president of School District 43's District Parent Advisory Council, has announced he will run for school trustee in Coquitlam.
The father of a daughter in Grade 8, Denison was a teacher and has developed leadership and scholarship math programs for students, worked in the corporate world, started his own business and has attended board meetings for two years.
In a statement he acknowledged that the district has struggled financially, and he wants to provide strong, effective leadership to foster cooperative advocacy for SD43 students. "We need to work with other school districts and the ministry for more equitable funding across districts, and to reverse the progressive funding decline," he further stated.
