ELECTION 2014: Incumbent and board chair seeks another term in Port Moody

The chair of the School District 43 board of education is seeking re-election.

The chair of the School District 43 board of education is seeking re-election.

Melissa Hyndes, one of two trustees for Port Moody since 2002, announced her candidacy Monday, saying, the district needs "leaders with strong voices to advocate for changes to the funding formula that will be fair to our students" who will "work collaboratively and respectfully with all stakeholder partners."

Hyndes and fellow PoMo trustee Keith Watkins, who is also running for re-election, were both acclaimed in the 2011 election but already have one challenger, Jeanette Jackson.
