Judy Shirra was first elected to the School District 43 board of education in 1993-1996, re-elected in 1999-2002 and again in 2008 and 2011. The following is her submitted biography and statement.
Being a school trustee is more than attending local school board meetings - it's about being engaged with the community and the public, knowing where pockets of poverty exist and getting assistance to students in these areas. It's about accessing community grant money!
