Long time Coquitlam teacher, and retired Coquitlam Teachers' Association vice-president Chris King is running for school trustee in Port Coquitlam .
Recently retired, King spent 37 years in the education system as a teacher in elementary, middle and secondary school as well as being member of CTA executive.
His campaign will focus on advocacy and greater accountability, and more scrutiny of education expenditures.
"Effective advocacy means speaking out and highlighting the consequences of government cuts to education and to get the public on board. We have to show that we are spending the money we do have in a careful and responsible way," his press release states.
