Voters concerned about safe and affordable transportation and housing for seniors can get some insight into their city council candidates' beliefs and strategies on these topics just in time for the election.
The Tri-Cities Seniors Planning Network conducted a survey on these topics and 28 council candidates from Port Moody, Port Coquitlam and Coquitlam filed it out.
According to the 65-member planning group and the United Way, there is a shortage of services for seniors, given the size of the population with numbers of older people expected to increase 190% over the next 20 years.
The survey asked candidates how they would support affordable and accessible housing for seniors, how would they support accessible and affordable transportation for seniors and how would they support seniors and their families as they deal with issues around again.
