It's another four years for Belcarra Mayor Ralph Drew while Anmore will see a change in its top council job.

It's another four years for Belcarra Mayor Ralph Drew while Anmore will see a change in its top council job.

Drew, who has held the mayor's office in the village since 1984, notched yet another victory on Saturday, collecting 183 votes - 45 more than his challenger, Michael Robson.

The four council seats will be occupied by incumbents Bruce Drake (223 votes), Jennifer Glover (201) and Jamie Ross (191), as well as newcomer Perry Muxworthy (205), who campaigned on a goal to balance Belcarra's natural surroundings with growth and modernization.

Trailing in the polls were Janet Ruzycki, who, with 189 votes was just two shy of Ross' seat, and Sean James, who collected 124 votes.

Anmore Mayor Heather Anderson was ousted, however, after she collected 335 votes compared to challenger John McEwen's 442.

Among the councillors elected are Ann-Marie Thiele (the only incumbent to put her name forward for re-election) with 460 votes. Paul Weverink topped the polls with 487 votes, followed by Thiele, Ryan Froese (438 votes) and Kim Trowbridge (393).

Candidates who were not elected include Doug Salberg (315), Gord Bytelaar (249), Mario Piamonte (175) and Ian Drever (105).

There were no official results available for voter turnout but Drew suggested that, based on the number of eligible voters in each village, Belcarra's turnout rang in at 61% while Anmore's was 52.4%.
