Have you ever imagined yourself a crime fighter?
Here’s your chance.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is hiring new Mounties, and to entice new recruits with the careers on offer, a local training centre is hosting a career presentation to show potential recruits what’s involved in joining Canada’s national police force.
“To do our job, we need police officers from all backgrounds who are physically fit, up for a challenge and ready to make a difference wherever they’re posted,” said an RCMP spokesperson in a press release.
The RCMP’s scope for police work covers municipal, provincial, national and international duties. Among the approximately 150 kinds of operational and administrative duties, officers can find work in such fields as general policing, drugs and organized crime investigation, emergency response team, national security and VIP Protection Service.
The RCMP career presentation will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at the Pacific Regional Training Centre in Chilliwack (Vedder Room, 1110-45537 Calais Cres.). Those wanting to attend are required to pre-register by phone at 1-877-726-7472 or by email at [email protected]. Include your name, email address or phone number, as well as the date and location of the presentation.
