Residents living near the Evergreen Line's south tunnel portal can expect to see a lot of construction over the next few weeks.
Crews will be busy with road work on Westley Avenue starting this week and running for about three weeks in total, depending on weather conditions, according to an update from the Evergreen Line project office. The work will run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. as crews pour curbs, install drainage and pave the roadway.
Drivers can expect lane closures on Westley and the alley behind Elmwood Street as equipment and materials are delivered, and to park trucks. Access to residents' homes will be maintained but while lane closures are in effect, there will be temporary no-parking signs in the Westley cul-de-sac.
And starting next week, the project team will be restoring and paving a section of Cecile Drive in Port Moody. There will be two days of work from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting either on Aug. 25 or 26, dependent on the completion of road restoration work at Chateau Place.
While the Cecile Drive work is underway, there will be lane closures just west of Highview Place, though access to homes will be maintained, with temporary no-parking restrictions on the south side of Cecile Drive.
Residents in both areas can expect to hear construction and heavy equipment noise.
