Evergreen traffic delays

Tri-City drivers will need to be alert for traffic issues this week as preliminary work on the Evergreen Line ramps up.

Tri-City drivers will need to be alert for traffic issues this week as preliminary work on the Evergreen Line ramps up.

Access to the Coquitlam transit exchange, including the West Coast Express parking lot and bus loop, from the Mariner Way underpass (located between Rona and Mariner Way) will be closed on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as crews work on the BC Hydro duct banks. Motorists will have to access the exchange from the Lougheed Highway entrance only on those days.

The power supply is being upgraded near Falcon Drive, meaning drivers can expect single-lane alternating traffic on Falcon and traffic control personnel on Barnet Highway and Falcon.

Single-lane alternating traffic also continues on Columbia Street in Port Moody due to ongoing work on relocating the rail line.

Drivers using Pinetree Way can also expect more disruptions between Guildford Way and Glen Drive, where crews are installing hydro duct banks, and should watch for traffic control personnel on the west (southbound) side of Pinetree Way. The southbound parking lane, from Town Centre Boulevard to Guildford Way, will also be closed.

More details are available at www.evergreenline.gov.bc.ca.

Another traffic hotspot - this one due to ongoing work on the Port Mann/Highway1 Improvement Project - will be Lougheed Highway.

The stretch between the Cape Horn Interchange and the Coleman Avenue on-ramp to Highway 1 will see one lane closed for the next two months.

Drivers are being asked to use alternate routes while the temporary traffic pattern change is taking place; visit www.pmh1project.com for more information.
