Commuters should expect to take extra time getting to work today.
In addition to snowy roads and highways,TransLink is reporting that there will be significantly slower service on the transit system today.
In a statement to media this morning, the regional transit authority recommends that customers consider whether they need to travel, and if there is a need, to consider travelling outside of rush hours, as commutes will take much longer than usual.
Crowding on trains and SkyTrain stations, similar to yesterday, can also be expected.
Station attendents will be on board to monitor guideways and limit emergency braking on the system, which can be caused by heavy snowfall or ice build up.
Customers using the bus should check transit alerts before travelling.
HandyDART will be operating at essential service levels only until further notice.
"Our priority is to ensure transit services continue to operate, even if they are operating more slowly or with reduced capacity," a press release states.
