Work is progressing on the Poirier dry-floor sports court, a 25,000 sq. ft. facility being built beside Coquitlam's Dogwood Pavilion that is due to open this fall.
User time for the $3.9-million fabric-covered structure is already booked by local sports groups, including soccer, ball hockey and lacrosse organizations, and for seniors' activities.
The structure is expected to cost the city about $148,000 annually to operate.
