Warm weather has led to an increase in the E. coli levels in the water around Rocky Point Park and the Port Moody Inlet, prompting a warning from the Fraser Health Authority.
According to a news release posted to the city of Port Moody website, accidental ingestion or immersion in these waters may result in illness.
The city and Fraser Health is warning recreational boaters, paddlers or anyone coming into contact with the water to use discretion.
Advisory signs will be posted in the park area and more updates on the quality of the water will be posted as new information comes in.
