A gas line rupture forced the evacuation of a home in Anmore near Heritage Woods middle school on Wednesday morning.
Coquitlam RCMP Cpl. Jamie Chung said the call came in at around 10:30 a.m. and investigators were still trying to determine exactly what happened.
"One house was evacuated and and apparently the situation is under control," he said. "Fire and construction vehicles are blocking traffic."
A resident in the area said the leak originated near where construction crews were working on widening Dogwood Drive.
FortisBC representatives were on scene shortly after the incident occurred.
