Everybody likes to complain about transit service, now there's an opportunity to help make it better for the communities of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra.

Members of the public are being asked to give their views on what is working and what is not working for transit in the northeast sector for a transit plan that will set goals and targets for the next 30 years.

"It's open to anyone," a TransLink spokesperson said, "anybody traveling in the area, or in and out of those communities." Students, regular commuters and those who take transit to visit people or events outside their communities are encouraged to do the online survey.

It will take approximately 10 minutes to complete and will cover questions that will identify priorities for improvement, what works well now and what needs to improve to increase transit ridership in the Northeast Sector.

"Before we can start envisioning the future of transit in the Northeast Sector, we need to first assess what works and what can work better," stated Bob Paddon, executive vice president, strategic planning and public affairs at TransLink, in a press release.

To complete the survey, visit translink.ca/nesatp. The deadline is 4 p.m. Friday, June 14.

The completed plan is expected to be ready by the fall of 2014.
