Head to Tri-City rec centres for Canucks viewing parties tonight

Game 4 in Round 2 of the Vancouver Canucks versus Oilers hockey series starts tonight, May 14, at 6:30 p.m. in Edmonton.

And Tri-City residents can sport their jerseys at their local recreation centres for the public viewing parties put on by the municipalities.

In Coquitlam, the lobby area at the Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex (633 Poirier St.) will be open to watch the event.\

The Port Coquitlam Community Centre (2150 Wilson Ave.) will have a projector screen up — courtesy of Galactic Entertainment — plus concession combos, drinks from local breweries and prizes up for grabs for attendees after the first period.

And in Port Moody, head up to the second floor curling lounge in the recreation complex (300 Ioco Rd.) to cheer on the team. Seating starts at 6 p.m. and food donations for the SHARE Family and Community Services food bank will be accepted.

Port Moody fans can also bring in outside food and non-alcoholic beverages.

Vancouver leads the Stanley Cup series 2–1.


Game 5 takes place on Thursday, May 16, at 7 p.m. in Vancouver. Subsequent games, if needed, are on Saturday, May 18, and Monday, May 20.
