Here are all the take-out restaurants opening in the same Port Coquitlam block

Whether you're in the mood for fried chicken, pho, pizza or just want to pick up some snacks, there are plenty of new options coming to this north side neighbourhood in Port Coquitlam.

Are you hungry for spicy Vietnamese pho, Korean chicken, Italian pizza or a caprese salad?

Maybe you need some candy, an energy drink or a quick snack?

If so, you're in luck as several new businesses are opening up in Port Coquitlam along Coast Meridian Road near its intersection with Prairie Avenue.

Here's what foodies can look forward to as they buy lunch, pick up dinner or order online to fill their hungry bellies:

Vietnamese pho

Mr. Pho is the city's newest business that opened in late October at 3331 Coast Meridian Rd., next to Chiko Chicken.

The menu is extensive, according to the website, and includes tasty appetizers like beef carpaccio, shrimp papaya salad and multiple varieties of noodle soup.

Soup categories are humourous, and include "beginner," such as chicken noodle soup, and "adventure," variations of soup with tripe and Mr. Ho's "specialty" soups.

These soups include a hot and sour soup, a seafood soup, grilled chicken and vegetarian.

Korean fried chicken

A new joint called CM Korean Fried Chicken and Bistro is opening in the former location of Lee's Fried Chicken or John's Chicken — and recently a fish-and-chips joint — at 1475 Prairie Ave.

Owner John Ho told the Tri-City News he expected the restaurant to open this week.

As a newcomer to the area, CM Korean Fried Chicken and Bistro will compete with Chiko Chicken, located about a block away on Coast Meridian.

According to the website, the Port Coquitlam location will be the fourth CM Korean Fried Chicken in the Lower Mainaland, with restaurants in Burnaby, Delta and Abbotsford.

It's got a nice seating area and the menu offerings include snow onion chicken, which is french sliced onion and white sauce on top of crispy fried chicken.

There's also fried chicken with bacon, spinach, tomato and onion on the menu, as well as spicy, garlic soy and curry versions.

Also known as Choongman Chicken, the slogan, according to Instagram is "We don't copy, We only create."

The brand started in Korea and expanded to the U.S. The Greater Vancouver locations are a first for Canada.

Snacks and candy

Treat Street, is under construction, next door to Vape Street, at 3310 Coast Meridian Rd., the former home of Ball Breakers, and will feature exotic snacks, energy drinks and a wide variety of candy when it opens, possibly at the end of the month.

Take-out pizza

The signs say Reggiano's Pizza is opening soon at 3357 Coast Meridian Rd. in the same strip mall as Mr. Pho and Chico Chicken.

This is an exciting development for hand-stretched pizza lovers, as the current Kitsilano location is quite popular, according to online reviews.

Its website states the pizza dough is made with Caputo OO flour, which is the flour of choice for pizza in Naples, making pizza crust light and airy.

However, pizzas with cauliflower crust can also be ordered.

Toppings include vegetarian, meat, half and half — and salads and fries are on the menu as well.

A lovely sounding Pera Prosciutto Salad, featuring arugula, gorgonzola, walnuts, pear, prosciutto, Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese and balsamic vinaigrette is on the menu at the 4th Avenue location as well as a pizza called Jericho, with Alfredo sauce, mozzarella, Fior di Latte, grilled chicken, mushrooms, red onions, and spinach.

Pizza by the slice will likely be offered as well, judging by the current menu, as well as take-out and delivery.

The Tri-City News has reached out to Reggiano's for an opening date but has yet to hear back.
