Here's where the Tri-Cities can make a splash amid hot weather alert

Outdoor and wading pools across the region are opening to the public, and just in time with Environment Canada's latest alert.

Port Coquitlam has opened its wading pools, like the one seen here in Sun Valley Park, in time for an incoming stretch of hot weather as of June 22, 2022.

Environment Canada is predicting temperatures to hover around 30 C this weekend during the first hot stretch of summer in the Tri-Cities.

A special weather statement is in effect for the region with the warmer-than-normal forecast expected to last from Friday (June 24) to Tuesday (June 28).

Fortunately, most outdoor pools have opened just in time for this week's wave across Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody.

Today (June 22), Port Coquitlam officially opened its wading pools in Sun Valley and Routley parks to help local residents beat the incoming heat and stay active throughout the season.
