Coquitlam residents and high school students will have to go further to get their coffee and snacks after a 24-hour convenience store had to close temporarily today (Nov. 18).
Located at 1198 Lansdowne Dr., the 7-Eleven store will be closed all weekend because of "technical reasons," a store representative told the Tri-City News by phone.
No further explanation of technical issues was offered. However, they said the store will be open on Monday (Nov. 21).
Many people use online delivery services to get food from the Eagle Ridge neighbourhood location just east of Gleneagle Secondary.
Companies like Skip-the-Dishes doesn't immediately alert customers to the temporary closure, according to the 7-Eleven website.
The store prides itself on being open 24/7 for grab-and-go snacks and there are dozens of reviews on Google, which appear to be immediately followed up with a response.
Fraser Health said the store has a clean record and gave the store a "Low" hazard rating in a Nov. 3 inspection posted online.
Nearby bakery opening soon
The 7-Eleven store is located in Eagle Ridge Plaza, the same area where a new bakery is set to open, offering French-inspired cookies, cakes and desserts.
Pourquois Pas Pattiserie is currently hiring, according to a post on Instagram.
