Volunteers are being sought for next month's Terry Fox Hometown Run.
This week, organizers of the Port Coquitlam run - the Tri-Cities' oldest and biggest - sent out a plea to ask helpers to sign up for duties before and on the event day.
People are needed to put up 20 to 50 posters at local businesses to promote the run and, on Sept. 16, to register participants, set up and take down equipment, and tidy the area around Hyde Creek rec centre afterwards.
To volunteer, call 604-944-1200 or [email protected].
Meanwhile, PoCo run organizer Dave Teixeira said a limited supply of 2012 Terry Fox Run t-shirts is now available at the Hyde Creek rec centre, The Outlet (behind city hall), Save On Foods and Coopers in PoCo.
The Tri-Cities has four Terry Fox Run sites on Sunday, Sept. 16:
Port Coquitlam - Hyde Creek rec centre, 10 a.m. start;
Coquitlam - Blue Mountain Park, noon start;
Port Moody - Rocky Point Park, 10 a.m. start;
and Anmore - village hall, noon start.
