Employees at the Coquitlam IKEA will be planting trees at Mundy Park next week as part of its Pick a Tree, Plant a Tree program in support of Tree Canada

This is the company's 16th tree planting event and gives employees the opportunity to restore green spaces in the community. The event, which is funded by the proceeds of IKEA Canada's Christmas tree sales, will see the group digging, planting and caring for trees and shrubs in Coquitlam's most prized parks.

Tree Canada is a not-for-profit charitable organization established to encourage Canadians to plant and care for trees in urban and rural environments. To date, it is responsible for planting more than 77 million trees in schoolyards and green spaces across the country.

The event runs between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15 at 641 Hillcrest Street in Coquitlam.
