The internet is back up at School District 43 after a day of downed communication at the board office.
On Friday, at about 8:15 a.m. construction workers operating in the area severed a fibre optic cable and phone lines, cutting off the board office from telephone and internet communication.
School internet service was also disrupted but most of the problems were fixed by about 5 p.m. that evening.
However, an automated system used to dispatch teachers on call to fill in for sick workers was still having problems Monday morning.
However, the district's manager of Information Services said staff are handling the issue and said Friday's disruption was managed well by people throughout the district.
"I was quite impressed as to how they adapted," Brian Kuhn said.
Staff were able to use their cell phones to contact schools to let them know about the problem and a fax was also sent out.
