The Islamic Society of B.C. in Port Coquitlam is opening its doors this Sunday, Dec. 27 to share information about the culture, food and history of the Syrian people.

"ISBC recently attended a multi-organization meeting chaired by Mayor (Richard) Stewart of Coquitlam to plan and coordinate the Syrian refugee resettlement process in the Tri-Cities area. Some participants made a unique request for orientation with the Syrian culture. We are therefore hosting an event for our partners to get acquainted with our guests, their history and culture," stated organizer Mohammed Khan in an email.
The event will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Islamic Society and Cultural Centre, 2626 Kingsway Ave., Port Coquitlam.
