There were Spider-Men, Ninja turtles and ladies in feathered party hats at the annual Penguin Plunge in Port Moody on Jan. 1.

The ocean dip at the Rocky Point Park boat launch drew several hundred spectators, who lined the pier and docks to watch the costumed brave souls run down the concrete ramp and into the chilly waters to welcome 2015.

The fun and festive event, which sponsored by the Pleasantside community association, also attracted the PoMo firefighters who were on hand to light a bonfire and stand guard in case of emergencies.
