If you drive on Guildford Way as part of your daily commute, get ready for delays for the rest of June.

As part of work being done to prepare for the Evergreen Line, there will be temporary daytime lane closures on Guildford immediately east of Pinetree Way starting Wednesday and continuing for about two weeks. The work is weather-dependent.

The lane closures will allow crews to build a new right-in/right-out parking lot entrance for the Evergreen Cultural Centre, which is located on the corner of Pinetree and Guildford ways.

According to an Evergreen Line press release, one westbound lane of Guildford just east of Pinetree will be temporarily closed and crews will be working Monday to Saturday between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Drivers and pedestrians are urged to follow traffic control personnel instructions and posted signs during construction.

Meanwhile, work continues along the Evergreen Line route, including at Lougheed Town Centre Station in Burnaby, where the new line will tie into the existing SkyTrain system when it opens in the summer of 2016.

Work on the Moody Centre Station has also begun, as have measures to prepare for tunnelling on Barnet Highway near View Street in Port Moody.
