Port Moody residents will get the chance to dig in the dirt and play with worms at a composting workshop next week.
Worms can easily process between one and three pounds of kitchen waste each week, turning food scraps into valuable potting and garden soil. Along with a one-hour teaching workshop, participants will get a worm starter kit consisting of a large plastic bin and a handful of worms that they can take home.
The workshop takes place Saturday, April 21 from 11 a.m. to noon. Cost is $35 per person (plus tax), which includes the lesson and a worm starter kit valued at $50. People can register at the Port Moody rec complex, by calling 604-469-4556 or by going to www.portmoody.ca/signmeup.
