Letter: Port Moody should be as proactive on climate change as possible

This letter writer says they're "happy" to know Port Moody politicians are taking a closer look at climate change and its local impacts.

Re: Port Moody could take lead on class-action lawsuit against big oil corporations: mayor (Feb. 14, 2024)

I live in Port Moody, near the western end of the trail.

I believe the more proactive we can be re: climate change, the better.

A stitch in time….I was happy to see this quote from the mayor:

"We can’t underestimate the damage climate change has done.

"I think anything we can do to mitigate the costs toward the city, we should be looking at."

It is not just the costs, of course, it is the long term effect.

I would love to be part of a municipality that works in the the right direction.
