Little girl allegedly touched at Coquitlam's Town Centre Park

Coquitlam RCMP have issued a sketch of a man suspected of inappropriately touching a little girl at Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam's Town Centre Park.

Coquitlam RCMP have issued a sketch of a man suspected of inappropriately touching a little girl at Lafarge Lake in Coquitlam's Town Centre Park.

On the afternoon of May 12 a father and his children were at the lake but before they left, the six-year-old girl told her dad that a stranger had touched her private parts. Coquitlam RCMP searched the area extensively but did not find the suspect.

Cpl. Jamie Chung couldn't say exactly where in the park the alleged incident took place or why the girl was separated from her father at the time.

The suspect is described as either a Caucasian or Middle Eastern man in his 30s, about six feet tall with a slim build and black hair. He was clean shaven and spoke with an accent.

At the time of the alleged assault he was wearing a reddish brown shirt and medium blue/grey pants that may have been jeans.

"We are taking this investigation very seriously," Chung said. "We have increased patrols in the area to look for the suspect."

Anyone who can identify the suspect from the sketch is asked to call Const. Danielle Pollock at 604-945-1550 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.crimestoppers.ca.
