Police are looking for two suspects after one of them assaulted an elderly Coquitlam man, resulting from a confrontation about their unleashed dog that attacked his pet.
Mounties are asking for the public's help in identifying a man, woman and their dog involved in the May 3 incident.
Around 4 p.m. that day, a senior man and woman were walking their dog when it was suddenly attacked by an unleashed dog on the grounds of Montgomery Middle School — located on 1900-block Edgewood Avenue.
An argument then took place between the pet owners, according to RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Paige Kuz.
In retaliation, the male suspect assaulted the elderly man. The senior was left with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Kuz says investigators believe the suspected couple lives in the area of Montgomery Middle "as they were also out walking their dog," and police are looking to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the assault.
The suspects are described as follows:
- 30 years old
- Short hair
- Trimmed goatee
- Possibly wearing...
- Baseball hat
- Dark blue 'TELUS' vest
- Cargo pants
- Black hair
- Dark complexion
- Wearing a black jacket
- Roughly 40 pounds
- Black fur
- Curly tail
