Suter Brook residents received a scare Sunday morning and police cordoned off a vacant lot in the area after receiving a report of a body being loaded into the trunk of a car.

But as it turned out, no foul play had occurred.

According to Port Moody Police, two brothers had been walking a dog when one of the men stepped on a piece of rebar and cut his foot, leaving behind a pool of blood. Because the man could not walk, his brother moved his vehicle onto the lot and helped load the man into the back of the SUV.

"Police confirmed the incident with the brother and medical staff and were satisfied with the story," said Port Moody police Const. Luke van Winkel, adding, "The PMPD would like to thank the public for their diligence."
