A man has died after being struck by a train near the Westwood Street crossing just north of Dewdney Trunk Road in Coquitlam Sunday afternoon.
Coquitlam RCMP described the victim as a Caucasian male in his 30s who had been walking along the tracks behind the 3030 Gordon homeless shelter.
"From the information we have received from the train conductors, he was struck by the train," said Coquitlam RCMP Const. Jamie Phillipson. "There are a few areas where you can cut through that aren't fenced."
