Traffic was moving freely westbound on the Mary Hill bypass Thursday morning as drivers negotiated a new overpass onto HIghway 1.
No longer do westbound drivers out of Port Coquitlam have to negotiate traffic lights and drag-strip-race style intermittent lights onto the freeway.
The brand new overpass has taken months to construct and is part of the time-saving improvements being introduced in the Cape Horn Interchange in Coquitlam.
Drivers should note the old on-ramp to Highway 1 westbound from United Boulevard southbound is now closed. Drivers wishing to access Highway 1 westbound from United Boulevard should use the Coleman Avenue on-ramp or the Brunette Interchange via Lougheed Highway.
Drivers on Mary Hill Bypass westbound wishing to connect to United Boulevard can do so by using the Mary Hill Bypass exit ramp to access the intersection to the right of the new Mary Hill overpass.
