Heads up, if you regularly commute along Lougheed Highway on the east side of Coquitlam's Ranch Park neighbourhood.

The city says maintenance is set to be conducted for a five-hour period along the median of Highway 7 tomorrow (Sept. 21).

In order to safely complete the task at hand, workers will be reducing traffic to a single lane in each direction between Orchid Drive and Dewdney Trunk Road.

Crews will be conducting centre median maintenance from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

While Coquitlam aims to conduct local road work during less busy periods of the day, the city advises local residents that need to access Lougheed Highway to give themselves more time to get from point 'A' to point 'B.'

Drivers are also encouraged to find an alternate route, if possible, to avoid potential delays.
