Tom Ramsay of Meridian RV in Port Coquitlam has been awarded by his peers for outstanding contributions to community and business.
In accepting the 20th Annual Canadian Dealer of the Year Award, Ramsay brings the award home to the Lower Mainland for the first time in nearly 20 years as the last time the honour was brought to the area was in 1994.
The award recognizes the Dealer Principal and the Dealership for long term commitment of the RV industry, working within the provincial and national levels, the ethics of the individual and company combined. It also acknowledges Ramsay's operations and progressive advances in a full-fledged RV dealership.
In order to achieve the award, Ramsay had to win the B.C. RV Dealer of the Year provincially and then be nominated by his peers, including previous Canadian Dealer of the Year recipients, from across Canada.
In a statement, Ramsay said he was "especially proud and honoured to receive this most prestigious award," and he acknowledged his family for helping him to achieve the honour. "When accepting it, I fully dedicate it to both my late mother and father, for which it was with their guidance, work ethic and philosophy on life that instilled my personal and business success."
"I fully accept the award on behalf of my family, my wife, Sherry, and children Tammy, Ben and Chris for without their involvement, this award would not be obtainable," he further added.
