The Coquitlam RCMP and ICBC will be staging a mock car crash next week in an effort to raise awareness about traffic safety.
Dr. Charles Best secondary drama students will be involved in the event, which will simulate a vehicle wounding a pedestrian before hitting a hydro pole.
The staged incident will occur on Tuesday, May 8, between 9:50 and 10:30 a.m. on Como Lake Avenue in front of the main doors of Charles Best (2525 Como Lake Avenue).
For safety reasons westbound lanes on Como Lake Avenue will be completely closed from Mariner Way to Baker Drive between 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Motorists are advised to obey electronic sign boards and detour signage during this time.
