Coquitlam Rotary members Insuk Lee, Jim Lane, Gurpreet Sohi and Steve Niven have their sensitive documents ready to go to the shredder at the club's annual spring shredding event that will be held Saturday, March 19.

It’s time to gather those old receipts, tax forms, bills and invoices.

Coquitlam Rotary is bringing the big shredding tuck back to the parking lot at the Canadian Tire on King Edward at the Lougheed Highway on Saturday, March 19.

The spring shredding event is a fundraiser for youth projects like student bursaries, a community garden at Vanier School, literacy and environmental programs, as well as the creation of Christmas hampers for needy families and support for school sports teams.

This year, the club said it’s been focusing on helping the physical and mental health of young people to help them get through COVID-19 public health restrictions that denied them access to programs like sports and other extracurricular programming.

The event, that runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., is by donation, which will be accepted in cash or by credit card.

Volunteer Rotarians will even unload your car so social distancing practices can be respected.
