School District 43 expects to lop off $5 million in instruction, services and other costs and is expected to pass an amended budget tomorrow night, Tuesday.
The meeting will also give school district employees a crack at commenting on next year's budget while questioning administration about the effects of the cuts to whittle down a $7.5 million deficit this year.
The board of education is expected to approve a new budget of $295.1 million, according to district figures, down from $300.7 million approved last year.
Enrollment miscalculations and higher than expected costs resulted in the deficit that was revealed to the public in early January.
